Anglo-Saxon England ruled england from around 449 AD to 1066 AD. The Anglo-Saxon's were a smart people, with an agricultural based economy and a money based social structure. Though much of Anglo-Saxon art and literature was destroyed during the norman conquest, to this day many famous artworks and poems are referenced in our current society, including the famous poem beowulf. Though the Anglo-Saxons were an artistic and smart society, they found themselves too often at war, leading to their fall, at the hands of the Viking invaders.
